18 Australian Artists Whose Work You Can Still Buy for Less Than £500

These are the Aussie talents you should have on your radar if one of your goals for the rest of 2025 is to build your art collection.

When it comes to buying a piece of art, there are a few things to consider. First and foremost should always be your gut feeling: Do you love looking at it? Do you feel some kind of affinity to the work or the artist? Will it have a place in your space for years to come? But of course, money is typically an object, and there are few things more disappointing when decorating than seeing something you love only to find its way out of your price range.

So, how do you ensure you fall in love with something you can actually afford? Keep an eye on emerging artists who are creating work that has investment potential and will make a beautiful addition to your space for now and well into the future. Here are eight to get on board with.

1. Adam Leng

First Nations artist Adam Leng has a penchant for creating hypnotic graphic patterns that are woven together in various colour combinations. Adam’s artworks all feature three meandering lines. "One is the individual, one is country, and one is the ancestors,” he says.

2. Aleisha Hobson

Jaz Meier's playful and much-loved creations are inspired by the natural world, the female form, and a combination of '60s and '70s psychedelic music posters.
