These Are the Best Ceramicists to Follow on Instagram Right Now

Fact: ceramics are trending. We even recently wrote about Instagram's obsession with the décor item du jour ceramic lamps and we've been feverishly scouring our favourite vintage sellers for the perfect addition to our own interior spaces since. There's something so appealing about handcrafted ceramic objects and their tactile quality that has put them at the top of every stylist's must-have list this year. We love scouring Instagram and stumbling upon new and exciting makers and creations, and our following list is basically all artistic artisans at this point. Whether you're looking for a hands-on ceramic workshop run by the best in the biz, to add to your collection or simply to see some ceramic eye candy, the following list includes our favourite ceramicists that you need to follow ASAP.

We've been long-time fans and followers of ceramicist Aimee McLaughlin, and we're over the moon to have her incredible stoneware creations included as part of our Bedside Threads collection. Curvy, ethereal and practical, we absolutely adore these beauties that are handmade in Maine by Aimee herself. Her Insta is a warm-toned feast for the eyes where you'll catch a glimpse of her latest work as well as the people, places and things that inspire her.

The womanly works of Rachel Saunders marked the beginning of our ever-expanding Bedside Threads collection, so it's safe to say that we're big fans of this Canadian creative. Her forty-thousand Instagram followers are regularly treated to her signature 70's aesthetic that's a total vibe. Follow Rachel to get a glimpse into her ceramic shapes and experimentations, and be the first to snap them up before they're sold out.

Ceramicist Kimberly Cruz's rich, earthy work is experimental and celebrates imperfections in a very wabi sabi way. From coffee mugs to oval platters and everything in between, her incredible ceramic pieces are almost too beautiful to use. Follow for Insta for textural clay closeups and unique glazes that will make you want to take a ceramics class ASAP.

Brisbane-based Nicolette Johnson has amassed her dedicated following on the app with her gravity-defying ceramic vessels that are like futuristic artefacts that you could stare at for hours. Her name often pops up in our feed from our favourite designers who regularly feature her work, using her interesting forms as inspiration to guide their own projects. Expect a thoughtfully-curated feed with to-die-for photography and behind the scenes snaps.

Trained as both an architect and ceramicist, Sydney local Natalie Rosin's works are like miniature explorations of familiar built environments, and our dream is to actually live in a life-sized version of her sculptures. Natalie isn't afraid of colour, often exploring bright pastel shades and more striking primary colours to coincide with the concept behind each of her clever pieces.

Hana Vasak of Dáša Ceramics handcrafts all of her jaw-dropping ceramics in Melbourne, letting each piece inform the next and always taking inspiration from nature's organic forms. Her shapely creations are high on our décor wishlist, with soft greys, buttery beiges and terracotta tones dominating her inspiring Instagram gallery.

Another notable ceramicist that we've just discovered and can't get enough of is Kate Brouwer, whose vibrant and expertly-styled images capture our attention every time they appear on our feed. Beautiful speckled mugs sit beside vases and bowls in deeper black tones and we'd love one of everything, please!

The work of Katarina Wells is stocked in some of our favourite galleries around the country, including Modern Times in Melbourne and Curatorial & Co. in Sydney. Residing on the Northern Beaches, it's clear to see the influence her natural surroundings play in creating her sculptures, each of which she spends a few days perfecting. Monochrome in the best way possible, her Instagram page is a sea of playful shapes.
