Here’s What Your Bedroom Reveals About Your Relationship

Living with a partner? A relationship therapist uncovers clues in the contents of your bedroom.

The transition from living solo, or at home with family to a shared space with a partner(s) is always an interesting one. From balancing misaligning schedules, to learning how to navigate living together without compromising the intimacy and strength of the relationship, the journey of living with that special someone(s) is an unforgettable one.

One of the many pros that come with moving in with a significant other(s) is getting to adorn your new shared space with a collection of things and styles cherished by the different parties. Where one prefers maximalism, another might lean toward Scandi minimalism, and through your shared experience of living together, you’ll hopefully find a balance which caters to all personal preferences, resulting in a space that reflects your relationship.

When it comes to arguably the most intimate room in the house, the bedroom can often be a good indicator of one’s personality, style, and creative flair. So stepping into a bedroom shared by those in a relationship, can reveal how they choose to spend their time, what they value, and how they operate as a union.

We spoke with psychosexual and relationship therapist and qualified social worker Imogen Todd to find out what different bedroom types might reveal about a relationship, read on to find the style that best describes yours.
