Pinterest’s latest trend report predicts these styles will be everywhere this season.

Some wait with bated breath for anniversaries, birthdays, and holidays. For us interiors nerds, it’s the release of seasonal trend reports and design forecasts. So style aficionados and décor devotees rejoice – it’s the time of year when Pinterest reveals what is set to shape the months ahead.

Autumn is the season for spending time indoors, cosying up your space and embracing the details that make it feel like home. According to Pinterest, homeowners and renters alike are “transforming their spaces with style that speaks to both comfort and creativity,” while leaning into bold, personality-driven choices. We’ve rounded up some of our favourite trends and predictions from the most recent Pinterest Trend Report as well as drawing on the 2025 Pinterest Predicts guide and their Mid-Year Report. For the rest of 2025, it’s all about “elevating the everyday, making every corner an inspiring, unique escape – no matter your square footage or budget.”

Statement tiles

It seems that home decorators everywhere are still keen to inject joy and personality wherever they can. Rather than keeping surfaces neutral by paving them with plain white squares or subway tiles, many design lovers are embracing bold ceramics. When it comes to Pinterest searches, terms like ‘Blue ceramic tile’, ‘Mexican tile kitchen backsplash,’ and ‘Unique tiles’ are up almost 500%, while ‘Vintage tiles’ is up 1,107%. If it sounds too loud for your taste, you’d be surprised by how understated patterned mosaics can look when used sparingly and balanced with other textures, elevating a room with just the right amount of character.

Long, thin rectangular tiles in alternating colours, sometimes known as ‘finger tiles’, are proving especially popular, with ‘Striped tile bathroom’ up 447%. If you’re interested in discovering different styles and craft traditions, start by researching some of the most popular patterns from around the world. Start with heritage designs like Talavera (a traditional form of hand-painted ceramic blending Spanish and indigenous Mexican artistry), Delftware (Dutch tin-glazed pottery, usually blue-and-white with stylised flowers, vines, and pastoral scenes), and Minton (19th-century English encaustic or printed tiles with Victorian floral patterns).

Art Deco Décor

With each new generation comes a fresh cohort of aesthetes discovering and adding their own flair to classic styles. It comes as no surprise that Gen Z is embracing Art Deco as many move into their first rentals or onto the property ladder. On Pinterest, searches for ‘Art deco vintage’ are up 805%, ‘New art deco’ 497%, and ‘1980s art deco’ 509%. The nature of the style lends itself to grand hotels and New York penthouses, so if you’re working with a slightly more humble space, integrate elements like scalloped furniture, geometric mirrors, or brass accents to channel the spirit of Deco glamour.

Cubicle Chic

The lockdown era left us with a number of habits – some not so great. One of the more positive outcomes, though, is that hybrid working has become the norm for many people. Some have created dedicated home office spaces, while others are bringing their personality into the workplace by customising their desks. Searches for ‘cubicle makeover ideas’ are up 2,767%, ‘work office makeover’ 2,652%, and ‘cute desk decor’ 804%.

After years of working remotely, people want to carry the same comfort and creativity into the workplace, turning sterile desks into spaces that reflect their sense of style. Beyond looking good, a thoughtfully styled cubicle can also boost mood, reduce stress, and spark productivity. Think small but impactful touches – a leafy plant, a warm lamp, fresh flowers, a cosy throw over your chair, or chic storage trays that keep clutter at bay.

The Literary Aesthetic

Literature is inspiring everything from fashion and travel to wellness and interiors, with trending book genres like romance, dark academia, and fantasy being translated into these aesthetics and spaces. This can be as involved as a full library room or as achievable as a cosy reading nook.

There are many ways to bring your home alive with books, and to channel the literary spirit. Start with a comfy chair, ottoman, or window bench layered with cushions and throws, then add shelves or floating ledges to house your favourite books. Soften the space with warm lighting – lamps or candles – and mix in textures like velvet or linen for a lived-in feel. Another trend that proves the people want more. According to Pinterest’s 2025 Report, Rococo Revival is bringing back rumpled romance in interiors with a soft-feminine flourish. Defined by ornamental details, pastel palettes, and a sense of playful extravagance, this late-Baroque inspired trend channels the salons of Marie Antoinette for the TikTok generation.

Frills, floral overload, and draped curtains tied just-so, layered with worn-in linen for that lived-in yet luxurious feel. Searches and social feeds are brimming with gilded mirrors, carved mouldings, tufted upholstery, and porcelain trinkets, as design enthusiasts lean into escapism through aesthetics that blend history, fantasy, and theatre. This style feels indulgent and unapologetically romantic, with beauty, pleasure, and comfort taking centre stage.

Unless you live in a French chateau, this one is best interpreted with restraint. Just a few ornate details – a lacy pillow here, some floral wallpaper there – will provide the charm.
