10 New Series Not To Be Missed This March
From the gripping suspense thriller 'Long Bright River' starring Amanda Seyfried to Tinseltown comedy 'The Studio' with Seth Rogen, these are the 10 series not to be missed this March.
This month, the stars are out in force as book and podcast adaptations ready themselves for the screen. Liz Moore’s New York Times bestseller comes to life over eight episodes in Long Bright River, while Melissa Moore’s 2018 true-crime podcast plays out in Happy Face, starring Dennis Quaid. Throw some original series into the mix by way of new crime drama Adolescence and the ominously titled murder mystery, Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue, and you can see why we’re saying March isn’t a month to be missed.

1. Adolescence
Where Can I watch it? On Netflix
Among the many questions posed over this four-part crime drama is one almost too harrowing to imagine: What would you do if your teenage son was accused of murder? And yet that’s exactly what Eddie Miller (played by Stephen Graham) faces in this innovative series where each episode is filmed in one continuous shot. We find Eddie, along with his son, Jamie (Owen Cooper) and detective Luke Bascombe in the wake of a shocking tragedy, desperate to find answers, and in turn, the truth.

2. Daredevil: Born Again
Where Can I watch it? On Disney+
March Marvel Madness is here, and what better way to celebrate than with the return of Matt Murdock? Daredevil: Born Again is the next series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe set to take our screens by storm, serving as a sequel to Netflix’s Daredevil, but with a few tweaks in tow. Set in New York, Charlie Cox is back as Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer with heightened abilities who fights injustice both in his day job and his (horn)masked alter ego, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) is out on his own political crusade. What could go wrong? Heaps, by the looks of it.

3. Deli Boys
Where Can I watch it? On Disney+
Created by Abdullah Saeed, Deli Boys follows two Pakistani American brothers, who, after the unexpected death of their father, discover a lot more about him than they bargained for. And by a lot more, we mean criminal-enterprise-out-of-his-convenience-store more. Forced to step into their Baba’s underworld boots, the brothers run into their fair share of hurdles over ten hilarious episodes of this comedy crime series.

4. Happy Face
Where Can I watch it? On Paramount+
An adaptation of the iHeartPodcasts 2018 true-crime podcast by Melissa Moore and her 2009 autobiography, Shattered Silence, this captivating series tells the true story of a daughter racing against the clock to uncover whether an innocent man will be put to death for a crime her father, AKA ‘The Happy Face Killer’, committed. Starring Dennis Quaid and Annaleigh Ashford, this eight-episode drama will leave you stunned – both by the killer’s ghastly crimes and his daughter’s incredible resilience.

5. Long Bright River
Where Can I watch it? On Stan
An adaptation of Liz Moore’s New York Times bestselling book of the same name, Long Bright River puts the sus in suspense. Amanda Seyfried stars as Mickey Fitzpatrick, a Philadelphia cop and single mother who patrols a neighbourhood gripped by the opioid epidemic. Her work hits close to home, with her estranged sister struggling with addiction for years. But when a spate of murders take place, Mickey wonders if her family history could be connected to the case. Also executive produced by Seyfried, this eight-ep thriller promises to keep you guessing.

6. Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue
Where Can I watch it? On BBC iPlayer
From the mind of English suspense screenwriter and novelist Anthony Horowitz comes the ominously titled thriller, Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue. With a star-studded cast that includes Eric McCormack (forever Will Truman to us), David Ajala, Peter Gadiot and Siobhán McSweeney, it follows nine strangers whose small plane crashes in the Mexican jungle. Their fate goes from bad to worse when they are murdered one by one, leaving those remaining to uncover the killer.

7. The Residence
Where Can I watch it? On Netflix
Shondaland, the production company that gave us Bridgerton, Inventing Anna, and Scandal, just keeps serving. Up next is The Residence, a hysterical whodunnit set in the White House around a VIP State Dinner. With Uzo Adbua (Orange Is the New Black) and Randall Park (Fresh Off the Boat) starring as detectives investigating a government murder, one can only hope this crime comedy is up for re-election after this season’s eight-episode run.

8. The Righteous Gemstones: Season 4
Where Can I watch it? NOW
Evangelist satire series The Righteous Gemstones is finally coming to the end of its journey on television, and oh what a rollercoaster ride it has been. Debuting in 2019 to widespread acclaim, the religious comedy series takes aim at megachurch millionaires, sparing absolutely no one. For this fourth and final season, we find
Kelvin and Keefe now running their new church, while Uncle Baby Billy is hard at work on his Teen Jesus TV show. Hallelujah!

9. The Studio
Where Can I watch it? On Apple TV+
Taking the term “Take 1!” quite literally, every scene in Seth Rogen’s new satirical comedy series was filmed as one, long tracking shot, inviting us into a truly immersive experience. Rogen stars as Matt Remick, the boss of an embattled Hollywood movie studio trying to make films amidst a sea of infighting execs, ego-addled artists and corporate crooks. This ten-episode treat also stars the iconic Katherine O'Hara and Kathryn Hahn, with cameos from Martin Scorsese, Charlize Theron, and everyone’s favourite cook, Bryan Cranston.

10. The Wheel of Time: Season 3
Where Can I watch it? Prime video
Fantasy fanatics don’t need to look far for their next fix, with the third season of The Wheel of Time here to tingle your sci-fi senses. Season 1 of the series - inspired by Robert Jordan’s high fantasy novels - became Prime Video’s most watched original series of 2021, with the second season premiering to a record number of views. Based on The Shadow Rising, the fourth book in the novel series, season 3 follows Rand, Egwene, Mat, and Perrin as they face new and dangerous challenges, while Aiel Waste crowns the leader it’s been waiting for. And that’s just scratching the sandy surface.
