11 New TV Shows You Cannot Miss This December

From new seasons of 'Emily in Paris' and 'Fallout' to the fifth and final instalment of 'Stranger Things', there’s plenty to watch before we wave goodbye to 2025.

The last month of the year is here, and with it, a slew of new series to stream. For lovers of gritty Western dramas, The Abandons should scratch the itch till Taylor Sheridan releases his next Yellowstone spinoff. For K-Drama devotees, The Price of Confession delivers mystery in droves, while spy thriller series The Copenhagen Test promises to increase your pulse to pre-holiday speeds.

Throw in a second season of post-apocalyptic fantasy Fallout, a fifth season of Lily Collins catwalking her way through France in Emily in Paris, and the final ever instalment of Stranger Things, and you’ve got a superabundance of new series worth diving into this December.

1. The Abandons

Where Can I Watch It? On Netflix

Set in Washington Territory in the year 1854, Sons of Anarchy writer and actor Kurt Sutter’s new female-led series stars Sex Education’s Gillian Anderson and Game of Thrones’ Lena Headey. In it, they play two matriarchs – one from a privileged background, the other born into poverty – who will stop at nothing to protect their family and land. But there ain’t no cowboy hat wide enough to hide the secrets of the past or the illicit affairs of the present. Yeehaw!

2. The Accident Season 2

Where Can I Watch It? On Netflix

The viral Mexican drama The Accident (El Accidente in Spanish) is back for another season, with the original cast joined by Bárbara de Regil as Tamara “La Pantera,” a mysterious woman who reappears in El Charro's life. What she wants and why she’s appeared remain a mystery, at least for now, as the tragic accident that impacted four families a year ago continues to force everyone involved to choose between revenge and redemption.

3. The Copenhagen Test

Where Can I Watch It? On NOW and Sky

Starring Simu Liu and Melissa Barrera, sci-fi spy thriller The Copenhagen Test follows first-gen Chinese American intelligence analyst Alexander Hale on a dangerous and action-packed journey after his brain is hacked, giving the unknown hackers access to everything he sees and hears. The privacy breach must be stopped before all hell breaks loose, with plenty of explosions, punches, and snogs in the meantime. Warning: eight episodes of espionage-infused drama ahead.

4. Emily in Paris Season 5

Where Can I Watch It? On Netflix

Don’t let the name fool you – because this season, Emily is also in Rome! Swapping baguettes for bolognese, Lily Collins’ iconic character heads to Italy for new work (and love) opportunities. But what about Gabriel? He’s still next door in Paris while Emily’s off living la dolce vita with Marcello, the Italian stallion. Over ten fashion-filled episodes, Emily splits her time between the two European cities, faced with the realisation that eventually, she’ll have to choose one.

5. Fallout Season 2

Where Can I Watch It? Prime Video

Just when you thought 2025 couldn’t see any more of Walton Goggins, Fallout Season 2 has dusted off the Ghoul’s boots just in time. In the second season of this wildly popular video game adaptation, we’re taken out of LA and into the desert city of New Vegas, the only major city that didn’t suffer a direct nuclear hit. Once again led by Ella Purnell as Lucy MacLean, this eight-ep post-apocalyptic fantasy series also welcomes a very important new castmate this season – the one and only Macaulay Culkin.

6. Fugue State 1986

Where Can I Watch It? Netflix

Prepare the hairs on the back of your neck for a marathon standing spree, because Fugue State 1986 is guaranteed to give you the chills. Inspired by the true story of a mass shooting carried out by Vietnam War veteran Campo Elías Delgado in Bogotá in 1986, the series follows the twisted relationship between an army vet and a young student, ultimately leading to tragedy. Directed by Carlos Moreno and Claudia Pedraza, this Spanish-speaking series is not for the faint of heart.

7. Love is Blind: Italy

Where Can I Watch It? Netflix

The Italian adaptation of everyone’s guiltiest pleasure is finally here, featuring passion and hand gestures aplenty. In Love is Blind: Italy (AKA L'amore è cieco: Italia), a fresh cohort of singles will test the truth behind one of the world’s most renowned proverbs, attempting to fall in love with someone without ever seeing them. The season will follow couples across multiple iconic Italian cities, with date locations including the Duomo and Piazzale Michelangelo.

8. The Price of Confession

Where Can I Watch It? Netflix

Highly anticipated mystery thriller The Price of Confession is K-drama at its absolute best.

Featuring a stellar cast led by Jeon Do-yeon, Kim Go-eun, and Park HaeSoo, mystery meets suspense when a woman’s ordinary life is turned upside down after being made the prime suspect in her husband’s murder. Desperate to prove her innocence, she’s offered an impossible ultimatum in return for her freedom.

9. Stranger Things: Season 5, Part 2

Where Can I Watch It? Netflix

Over its almost 10-year run, Stranger Things has introduced us to Demogorgons, telekinetic teens, alternate dimensions, and Mind Flayers. It’s also proved the idioms “good things come to those who wait” and “you can’t rush art,” because every (extremely long) gap between seasons has been totally worth it. Now, it’s finally time to dive back into the Upside Down one last time with part two of the final season. Coming out on Boxing Day 2025, it's looking like things will be turned up to eleven (no pun intended): the military has sealed off Hawkins under quarantine, and the stakes have never been higher for the gang we’ve watched grow up on screen.

10. Taylor Swift: The End of an Era

Where Can I Watch It? Disney+

Over 10.1 million people attended TayTay’s Eras Tour across its 149 shows worldwide. That’s a whole lotta friendship bracelets. Whether you were one of those 10.1 million lucky ducks or stuck at home watching reels of the magic from your couch, Disney’s new six-part docuseries is the next best thing to being there. Featuring BTS footage from her record-breaking tour alongside exclusive interviews and insights into her life and loved ones (yep, he’s in it too), The End of an Era is worth its weight in gold bodysuits.

11. 5-Star

Where Can I Watch It? Paramount+

Every now and then a sports docuseries comes along that transcends the field and offers something deeper and more memorable than a game of football. 5-Star is one such series. A coming-of-age story intertwined with sports, this eight-ep series follows four five-star recruits’ freshman seasons of college football. Friday Night Lights meets Last Chance U, with a bit of Cheer thrown in for good measure. Game-changer!
