What can you expect from the new season? Read on for everything you need to know about Emily In Paris season three.
What is Emily In Paris season three about?
Emily In Paris has followed Lily Collins’ character Emily Cooper, a marketing executive who is seconded from Chicago to Paris and finds herself in the middle of new friendships, new romances and new work and life experiences, for three seasons now. The first two seasons saw Emily fall into a complicated love triangle with chef Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and his on-again, off-again girlfriend Camille (Camille Razat), as well as new friendships with Mindy (Ashley Park) and, in season two, the rogueish Alfie (Lucien Laviscount). She also has to contend with her boss Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu), who initially is frosty towards Emily but soon warms to her. By the end of season two, Sylvie offers Emily a job in her new agency.
The third season of Emily In Paris will pick up exactly where season two left off. Emily will have to choose whether or not she will follow Sylvie to her new agency or stay with Madeline (Kate Walsh), her longtime boss and mentor from the American agency. She is also torn between the two romances in her life – Gabriel and Alfie – and also whether or not she belongs in Paris or if she should return to Chicago.
We see all of this come to a head in the first trailer for season three, in which Emily decides – on a whim – to cut her fringe. Oh Emily, we’ve all been there. You can watch the first trailer for Emily In Paris season three to the right.
Who is starring in season three of Emily In Paris?
All of your favourites are turning for the third season. Lily Collins will star as Emily Cooper, as well as returning as a producer on the series alongside the show’s creator Darren Star. (He who created Sex and the City and Melrose Place.) Also returning are Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Camille Razat, Kate Walsh and Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu.
Where did they film season three of Emily In Paris?
Paris, of course! All three seasons of Emily In Paris have been made in Paris. The first season was filmed in 2019, the second in 2021 just as covid restrictions began to ease in the city and the third was filmed in Paris over the European summer of 2022. Filming concluded at the end of September in Paris.
You can expect all the major locations from the original series, including the offices of Savoir and Emily’s apartment in the 6th arrondissement to make an appearance. We also guess, from looking at some of the early released images and trailer footage, that the crew will make a few trips out of town too, as well as visit various landmarks around the city. One thing you know for sure when it comes to Emily In Paris is that there will be plenty of romantic vistas of the city of lights, all of which will make you want to book a holiday to Paris immediately.
Who has designed the costumes for season three of Emily in Paris?
The original costume designer for Emily In Paris was Patricia Field, the legendary and iconic creator of the looks from Sex and the City and The Devil Wears Prada. Field has stepped into more of a consulting role on the series now and the costumes are designed by Marylin Fitoussi, a French costume designer who took the lead on season two of Emily In Paris, too.
On the second season of the series, we saw the fashion stakes raise even higher from the first, with Emily wearing lots of purple outfits, fingerless gloves, berets, tiny bags and midriff tops. From early stills from season three, there appears to be a similarly bright and colourful fashion vision, with Emily wearing bralettes underneath baggy blazers, Mindy in zingy green two-piece suits and Camille sporting a pair of thick-frame black spectacles. We can’t wait to see more of the looks.
