I’m Bed Threads’ Art Director and These Are My Favourite Instagram Accounts for Design Inspiration

As someone who works in the world of design as the art director of Bed Threads, I'm constantly seeking artistic inspiration and creative ideas. One platform I like to turn to on a daily basis is Instagram. It's a beacon of stunning photography and design ideas and a fantastic source of visual inspiration.

Not only is it a great tool for me to share my own portfolio, but I'm regularly on the platform scrolling through my feed, which is filled with accounts that I follow for endless design inspiration. It's a great way to see new work, keep up-to-date with trends, and also bring me joy!

From graphic designers to florists, I've collated a list of 10 of my favourite accounts that I consider to be some of the most inspiring, interesting, and forward-thinking creatives on the social media platform.

1. @jessmarak

Jess Marak brings a dose of colour and playful vibe to my feed. The creative balances her time as a graphic designer with being a photographer, sharing colourful photos and videos of her home. Her portfolio of work includes projects with the likes of Refinery29, Google, and Soulcycle.

2. @clo

Clo Studio is a creative agency based in London that makes thoughtful, forward-thinking, bespoke communications for modern brands. Their IG account showcases everything from fashion visuals to vignettes of everyday life.

3. @elliotisacoolguy

This Sydney-based graphic designer has grown a significant following for his comedic and self-deprecating takes on design, life, and the internet. His account is a really great one for other graphic designers to follow as he showcases his experiences working in this field in a completely relatable, humorous, and aesthetically pleasing way.

4. @wooj.design

Brooklyn design studio Wooj believe that the combination of good design and sustainable, ethical manufacturing should be accessible to everyone – and I couldn't agree more. Their sculptural designs boast form and function and make for lovely statement pieces in the home.

5. @themakehaus_

Multi-skilled creative Dani Dean is the founder of multidisciplinary creative studio The Make Haus. Everything from creating beautiful weddings to reimagining retail spaces and homes is on the cards for this talented studio and it's all showcased on their fabulous Instagram account.

6. @georgie.boy__

Floral arrangements have a unique ability to completely transform the look and feel of a space and Georgie Boy's creations truly uplift me whenever they pop up on my feed. These creations provide plenty of colour and shape inspo.

7. @_sightunseen_

Sight Unseen is an online magazine that uncovers what’s new and next in design and the visual arts. Their elevated feed is a curation of super cool interiors and works from emerging designers, so it always feels fresh and exciting.

8. @laurenmartin_studio

New York City artist Lauren Martin's illustrations are equal parts cute, delicious, and cool. Each of her adorable works is laced with nostalgia and humour.

9. @j.hannah

J.Hannah crafts contemporary jewellery out of pristine materials, with sustainable production at its core. The brand's minimalistic and elegant style is showcased to perfection on its IG account which boasts a soft retro feel to it. There's colour inspiration aplenty here.

10. @atnndesign

Alyssa Nguyen is the brainchild ATTN Design, a branding and website design studio that's all about creativity, community, and connection. They specialise in elevating the vision of WOC and queer-founded beauty, wellness, and CPG brands. I love how forward-thinking and relevant this brand is.
